Brooklyn Nets Vs. Indiana Pacers – Northeast versus Midwest!
Brooklyn Nets Vs. Indiana Pacers
The Indiana Pacers travel to Barclays Center, Brooklyn, New York, to face the high-flying Brooklyn Nets on Sunday, April 10th, 2022, at 3:30 PM ET. This game will be a massive test for the Pacers as they have been on a losing streak for a few games now.
The Brooklyn Nets have, on the other hand, been on an impressive winning streak, and with the reintroduction of Kyrie Irving to the team, they look like a rejuvenated team. Kyrie Irving, James Harden, and Kevin Durant are the three most prominent names in the Brooklyn team, and they look set to guide the Nets for the post-season qualification.
Before these two teams face each other, the Nets will play the Cleveland Cavaliers, and Indiana will play the 76ers. Brooklyn needs to win against Cleveland and Indiana to have a chance at the post-season games.
Brooklyn Nets – Recent Form
The Brooklyn Nets have been churning up wins in their last couple of games, but that does not tell the whole story of this team this season. Before their win against the Houston Rockets, they were sitting in 10th place in the Eastern Conference with just a few more games left to play in the regular season.
Before the start of the season, the Nets were dubbed one of the favorites to clinch the title by pundits and fans of the game. However, they struggled to capitalize at home and have been second-best throughout most of the season.
To make matters worse, Kyrie Irving was barred from playing in New York due to his defiance of New York’s Covid-19 vaccination rules. He was initially restricted from playing any of this season’s NBA games but gradually became included in their away games. Now that Kyrie has been permitted to play the remainder of the season, the fans can hope to see a much-improved Nets team.
The Brooklyn Nets have emerged victorious in their last two games against the Houston Rockets and the New York Knicks. They now welcome the Cleveland Cavaliers before the Indiana Pacers visit them on Sunday for Gameweek 25.
Indiana Pacers – Recent Form
The Indiana Pacers have struggled a lot this season and are on a losing streak. Their last loss came against the Philadelphia 76ers with a final scoreline of 122-131 to the 76ers.
The Pacers hosted the team from Philly at Gainbridge Fieldhouse for their final home game of the season. The spotlight was stolen by Philadelphia’s Joel Embiid, who scored 45 points on 18-of-30 shooting and hauled in 13 rebounds to take the win at Indiana’s home turf.
The 76ers arrived with much flair and dominated most parts of the game, but Indiana came back from a 27-point deficit to reduce it to a four-point difference. Philadelphia scored 49 points in the second quarter to finish the first half with 82 points. Joel Embiid was the MVP of the game as he inspired the 76ers to a comfortable win.
The Indiana Pacers took some positives from the game as a few Pacers ended the game with double figures. The Pacers coped well with the threat of the 76ers except for the second quarter of the game. Their game plan against Philly worked to perfection except for the second quarter, where they gave away 49 points.
The first quarter was an even contest as both the Pacers and the Sixers went back and forth to stay in the lead. However, Joel Embiid scored a last-second three-pointer to give the Sixers the lead at the buzzer.
Before this game, Indiana had lost to the Detroit Pistons with a 4-point margin. The final scoreline was 121-117 to the Pistons. The Pacers travel to Philadelphia again on Saturday before making the trip to New York to face the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays.
Nets Vs. Pacers – Preview
The Brooklyn Nets will look to upset the Indiana Pacers on Sunday with a win as they look to charge into the post-season qualification slots. The Indiana Pacers currently sit in 13th place in the Eastern Conference standings.
The Pacers have nothing to fight for this season as they have been eliminated from the NBA playoffs along with the Lakers and Knicks.
Both teams will look to put on a show for the fans, but there will be more pressure on Brooklyn as they need to win their remaining home games to have a chance at the play-in seedings.
